Rosco Laboratories Presents Annual Donation to The Hemsley Lighting Programs, Inc.

Last night, Rosco Laboratories presented its 14th annual check to The Hemsley Lighting Programs, Inc. in New York City at the The Hemsley Lighting Programs' 15th Annual Lighting Portfolio Review. Presented by Rosco's director of sales for North America, Chad Tiller, the check represents proceeds from Roscolux #361 Hemsley Blue and brings Rosco's total donation to over $40,000.

"It's extremely important to us to support our growing industry and its rising professionals," states Rosco's CEO Mark Engel. "The Hemsley Lighting Programs give students the opportunity to become immersed in all aspects of the lighting design process and it's our pleasure to not only honor the legacy of Gilbert Hemsley, but to partner with a program that inspires and educates the future of our field."

Gilbert Hemsley was a respected artisan who designed lighting for numerous high profile performance groups around the country. To continue his legacy of educating students, The Hemsley Lighting Programs were created to offer master classes, portfolio reviews, and a nine-month internship with professional lighting designers at the Lincoln Center Festival, New York City Opera, and New York City Ballet. Roscolux #361 Hemsley Blue was designed to the specifications of lighting designer Mark Stanley, who worked with Rosco to design a blue that he and Hemsley used to use on LEKO's but updated the color for use on modern ellipsoidals.
