Parnelli for Chauvet's Nexus

Chauvet Professional's Nexus 4x4 LED display panel won a 2013 Parnelli Award.

The Chauvet Professional Nexus 4x4 LED display panel provides audiences with its big and bold eye candy effect. The COB LED blinder/wash was recently presented with the "2013 Parnelli Award for Indispensable Technology" in the lighting category.

"This award is especially significant to the entire Chauvet team," said Albert Chauvet, president of Chauvet. "We invested many long hours and sleepless nights in the development of the Nexus Series, believing that in the end we'd come up with a product line that could make a real difference to our industry by providing designers with intensely bright, linkable fixtures with incredible pixel mapping capabilities. Receiving this award only adds to the good feelings we've had seeing the Nexus perform so beautifully at a wide variety of touring, stage, club, and broadcast applications in 2013."

Featuring 16 27W RGB COB LEDS along with an advanced reflector optic design, the Nexus 4x4 delivers brightness and rich saturated hues as well as warm diffused white light plus pixel mapping and animated text. The COB (chip on board) LEDs are mounted directly on the circuit board, which results in shorter interconnection lengths to produce greater output, more even light distribution, and enhanced colors. The Nexus 4x4 is controllable via Art-Net, Kling-Net, and DMX protocols, allowing massive walls to be built without a tangled web of XLR cables.

Parnelli Awards have become a singular honor in the lighting industry thanks in large measure to the rigorous two-part selection process that ensures meaningful voting by 40,000 industry professionals with virtually no chance of "ballot box stuffing." In July of every year, nominations for the various award categories are made on the Parnelli website. At the end of August, the nominations are tallied and reviewed for authenticity and accuracy by the Parnelli board of advisors. Up to six nominees for each category are then confirmed and announced with balloting taking place on a secure voting page.

"We knew we had a 'winner' when we created the Nexus Series," said Chauvet. "The fact that the Nexus 4x4 won this award, which represents the true feelings of lighting professionals, only serves to validate that belief. This is a great honor for Chauvet."
