The 14th annual Long Reach Long Rider charity motorcycle ride, "The Avocado Adventure," is shaping up to be the largest ever. As of January 1, there are 28 riders and two chase cars registered for the ride. This is the largest group assembled at this stage in the planning. "The response has been fantastic," noted Drew Wending, this year's ride marshal. "The more riders we have the more money we raise -- and the better we can help Behind the Scenes and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS"

The 2017 ride begins in Escondido, California on June 16th and returns to Escondido on June 25. The route will give the riders a view of Southern California not found on the homes of the stars tour. Trips are planned to the Mt. Palomar observatory and through Palm Desert as well as time spent on the ever popular California Route 1. Loren Schreiber, ride marshal for the 2016 ride commented, "This ride is shaping up to be every bit as good as last year's ride through New Mexico."

The Long Reach Long Riders annual charity motorcycle ride benefits Behind the Scenes as well as Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. What began in 2004 as a single event blossomed into an annual ride that has raised over $550,000 for the two charities.
