Rat Sound Provides Sound Reinforcement for the Prince's Welcome 2 America Tour

Rat Sound is providing sound reinforcement for the current leg of Prince's Welcome 2 America Tour. "Rat got a call on the Thursday and by Sunday we had three semi trucks of prepped gear headed to Oakland for a 2am load in last February. Since then, Rat Sound has continued to supply the sound system for Prince, currently consisting of a 21-gig run at the Los Angeles Forum. Prince is not the alternative rock that Rat has become primarily known for; however, years of experience in the high-pressure trenches and complexities of large-scale touring makes a gig like Prince well within our realm." explained Dave Ra, president of Rat Sounds.

The system being used consists of six hangs of 10 L-Acoustics K1 in the round, with 42 dV-DOSC, and 40 SB28 subs powered by L-Acoustics LA8 amplifiers, continued Rat. Going back to analog, at the front of house, French engineer Majid Malki and Fred Lucas used a Midas Heritage 3000 console. Rat Sound sent out a crew of eight man consisting of Ronnie Kimball, Milk Arnold, George Squires, Tommy Caraisco, Taka Nakai, Manny Perez and Phil Reynolds with Roz Jones, Tim Engwall and Peter Baigent changing in three positions at the L.A. Forum.
