Martin by Harman Introduces M-Play Control Surface for M-Series Consoles at Prolight + Sound 2016

Martin's M-Play series console

Martin by Harman announces the M-Play playback and control surface, which follows the success of the M-Touch, but is focused completely on playback and offers a greatly expanded range of playback-specific tools.

Featuring a truly innovative control surface with force sensor resistive (FSR) faders and velocity-controlled pads, users can access playback and function keys of any sort. The M-Play offers a dual bank system with two separate and independent playback sections, each with their own bank of controls. The surface features rugged aluminum construction for durability, 12 FSR faders, 48 direct-access playback and function keys, and a DMX port. The M-Play comes with one DMX512 universe for direct control of any compatible DMX device.

"With the M-Play, Martin continues to reinvent the lighting console," said Paul Pelletier, product manager, controllers, Harman Professional Solutions. "This playback control surface is rugged, lightweight, and portable, and allows lighting professionals to interact with shows of any size. It's the ideal blend of technology, quality, and price."

M-Play is the most powerful playback controller of its class. With 512DMX channels, expandable to 65,000 channels, the M-Play controller is scalable to fit any user's specific needs. Evolutionary FSR fader technology, pressure-sensitive buttons, and velocity sensitivity combine for the precise and responsive control of fixtures, levels, speeds, and more. Connect the M-Play to any M-Series console or a PC running M-PC, and the user is ready to perform.
