New Interlocking FlexAray LED Fixtures Featured at PLASA Focus: Stamford

FlexAray LED

0energyLIGHTING will feature the FlexAray LED fixture family, stage and studio LED luminaires that are available in RGBAW, variable white, as well as static white 3,200K, 4,400K, and 5,600K.

All units have a proprietary reflector and special optic design. "In the RGBAW unit, [the optic design] allows us the ability to make great pastel colors and have great skin toning," says David LaVigna, CEO and president of 0energyLighting. In the three static and the variable white units, it allows no green and small amounts of plus magenta, the company says.

"This unit has a new, patent-pending mechanical design. It really allows us to do some great configurations interlocking the units together," LaVigna says. The hexagonal fixture hangs on standard yokes and L-brackets, but it can also attach to other fixtures for a larger hanger block installation. The hanger block allows up to ten fixtures to be hung together on a single yoke by placing fixtures together, inserting the interlock device, and turning the mechanism to the locked position. For fixtures spread wider apart, extension bars with holes in 18" centers connect to the yoke. "You're able to build pretty much any configuration you want with all these units and interlocks," he says.

FlexAray has multiple DMX modes, including eight-bit and 16-bit resolutions. The 16-bit mode utilizes two consecutive channels per attribute. The inclusion of an optional internal LumenRadio DMX receiver and antenna provides the fixture with its wireless DMX capability. One LumenRadio wireless DMX unit can receive and broadcast a DMX signal to multiple downstream units connected via XLR. Using the integrated master/slave function, the user can control multiple units without a console. The fixture complies with the USITT DMX512 standards so it can function utilizing any standard DMX controller. The FlexRate features allow for user-controlled DMX frequency ratings that create a flicker free light, while the FlexPalette feature offers up to 100 user-programmable color memory locations and 80 user-selectable combinations of fade and bump timing.

"That FlexPallete feature is going to come in pretty handy in the event world," LaVigna says. The units come in white and black body colors for architectural blending, and they also have the option of a clear or frosted front plate.
