Dates Set for 2026 URTA Interviews

The dates have been set for the next round of URTA design interviews. The URTAs have been connecting prospective students with top graduate programs for over 50 years, and are billed as the most accessible, cost-effective way for theatre artists to pursue graduate training.

A mix of in-person and live-virtual recruiting options will be offered in 2026. Candidate registration opens online on September 2 at 12pm EST. Additional event information and the candidate registration link can be found on the association's website.

For designers, live-virtual interviews will take place on January 20. These will cover all areas of focus: costumes, lighting, media/projections, props, scenic, sound, and technical direction.

In-person interviews will be held in Chicago, January 23 and 24. On January 23, the focus areas will include costumes, lighting, media/projection, and scenic design. On January 24, the focus areas will be costumes, lighting, props, scenic, and technical direction. There is no sound recruiting in Chicago.

Live-virtual interviews for stage management will take place on January 13 and 14.
