Bestek Lighting and Staging Announces Finkel as President, Adds Magod as VP Sales

Bestek Lighting and Staging has promoted Abott Finkel to president and CEO since the retirement of Van Allen Rice, earlier this year. Previously, Finkel was Bestek's executive vice president after Bestek and Abott Audio merged in 2015. The company, founded by Rice in 1974, provides a full range of project management and technical services relating to lighting and staging for events held in the New York City area.

In addition, Bestek Lighting and Staging has added Bill Magod as the vice president of sales. Magod has been working in the entertainment industry professionally since 1984 and has worked major events including the 1996 Summer Olympics, and several events for three US presidents. Magod has a strong background in sound reinforcement, mixing front of house and monitors for concerts, festivals, and corporate events. With a BS in speech (and minor in technical theatre) from Emerson College and an MBA from Boston University, the company notes Magod is "an excellent addition to the Bestek project management team."
