Dave Sewell Named CEO of Gopher Stage LightingMinneapolis-based Gopher Stage Lighting announces that Dave Sewell is its new CEO. Throughout his 17-year career, Sewell has held various roles across multiple industries. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, he began his career as a manager of track maintenance with Union Pacific Railroad, subsequently becoming a structural engineer at Shoemaker & Haaland in Iowa City, Iowa, primarily focusing on the design of heavy industrial facilities. After obtaining his MBA from the University of Minnesota, he spent ten years at 3M working as strategic planner, portfolio manager, and global new product development manager for the automotive, aerospace, and commercial transportation markets. According to a statement from Gopher, Sewell's strengths lie in understanding complex technical products, services, and markets and building strong businesses around them. Outside of work, he lives in Lake Elmo with his wife, Kristen, and their four-year-old son, Ryan. He spends his free time playing golf, hockey, curling, and waterskiing, as well as traveling and remodeling their house.
