GoVision Beefs Up Sales Team with New Solutions Manager

Jay deBlonk, GoVision

GoVision has created a new position of solutions manager, and recruited Jay deBlonk for the role. The 10-year veteran of South Dakota-based Daktronics will work with the sales staff on the company's more complex and creative projects, helping to design and engineer the LED screens, trusses, and rigging necessary to support them.

"Jay is going to play a critical role in helping GoVision leap to an even higher level on our clients' larger and more creative projects," says Chris Curtis, CEO of GoVision. "We've obviously done fine doing things the same way for years, but we felt that in order to continue being one of the most innovative LED solution providers in the industry, we needed to modify our process. Jay brings the expertise, the energy and the attitude we've been looking for. I'm very pleased he has joined the GoVision family."

deBlonk initially joined Daktronics in 2004 as a project manager/applications engineer, where he worked directly with sales on the front end while managing the project on the backend. He later moved into Video Products Engineering as product manager for mobile and modular products as well as Architectural Lighting and Freeform Elements.

"I believe my experience at Daktronics gave me valuable insights into how sales, project management and engineering interrelate, and how to implement cost-effective and repeatable solutions, rather than one-offs," says deBlonk.

deBlonk graduated from South Dakota State University in 1989 with a B.S. in geography. He was commissioned by the United States Army to the Corps of Engineers prior to graduating, and later spent more than three years stationed at Fort Benning, Ga. He has also served as a Field Artillery Officer in the Minnesota National Guard.

deBlonk is in the process of moving his wife and three young children from South Dakota to North Texas.
