One Church's VUE al-Class and e-Class System Provides Much Needed Clarity at Concert Volume

One Church in Gahanna, Ohio had decided to retire their old, used sound system and work with Matt Price and Dave Lowery of Sound Inspiration to design a new system to accommodate their loud and uplifting services that employs a full praise and worship band. Sound Inspiration began work in the fall of 2019 on designing a system that would meet and exceed One Church's expectations and audio demands. The goal was to have the new system installed and ready for use in-time for December holiday services.

The original sound system was comprised of used trap-shaped boxes and 18" subs. The system was old and tired, the output and coverage was poor, and there was a constant struggle with harshness and loss of low frequency impact at concert volumes. One Church had expressed a preference for a certain brand of speaker but quickly decided on VUE Audiotechnik after hearing an al-8 demonstration at another Sound Inspiration installation. Working closely with One Church's technical director, Austin Harman, Price and Lowery designed a system consisting of 16 al-8 acoustic linearity line array elements -- 8 per-side, with six center flown al-8SB subwoofers and an additional six as-418 isobaric subwoofers floor stacked across the stage. Due to the width of the room, three a-10 loudspeakers were also flown to serve as center fill and out fill. Finally, six e-352 nano ultra fidelity speakers were installed as front fills.

Price commented on why they prefer to install Vue. "As an integrator, we love working with Vue Audio when designing solutions for our clients. The coverage, clarity, and accuracy is unbeatable in every product they make. This was the first time we chose to provide the e-Class Nano series as front fills and, while I was hesitant due to their size, Vue's Jon Garner assured me these would keep up. He was right! These little speakers defy the laws of physics -- I've never heard a speaker this size keep up with a line array in output. In addition, the e-352 Nanos took no time at all to integrate with the main system -- no corrective EQ, just time align, level match, and go. The customer experience at Vue is top notch, and despite a strict timeline, we were able to complete this installation in time for the holidays, and the client was ecstatic with the results."

Harman also chimed in about their new Vue sound system. "The unparalleled consistency of the VUE al-8 line array, installed by Sound Inspiration LLC, has exponentially improved our ability to execute our vision of producing excellent, big sounding mixes. The first time we turned on the stereo, our jaws literally dropped. We certainly made the right decision."
