Shure Supplies American Music AwardsThe 51st edition of the American Music Awards was held on May 26, live from the BleuLive Theater at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. Hosted by Jennifer Lopez and full of iconic performances, the AMAs relied on Shure's Axient digital wireless system. Steven Vaughn, of Soundtronics, the show's RF coordinator, says, "An event like the American Music Awards, where the stakes are sky-high and the performances are live to millions, there's zero room for error. We relied on the Shure Axient digital wireless system, and it made our job a lot easier. The RF environment was packed, but we didn't have a single dropout or issue. It is a system that gives you the confidence you need because it simply works. When you are mixing live for an audience with millions and with the best artists in the world, having a gear you can trust is everything." Several artists also trusted Shure Axient Digital handheld transmitters for their live performances during the show: Artists using Shure Axient at the show included Jennifer Lopez, hosting and performing with a custom-blinged ADX2FD and AD2s with KSM8 capsule, Benson Boone, performing with an ADX2 handheld wireless microphone transmitter; Lainey Wilson, using an ADX2 handheld wireless microphone transmitter; Renee Rap, performing the Nexadyne 8/S supercardioid dynamic vocal microphone; Alex Warren, who relied on an SM58 microphone; Manuel Turizo, using a KSM11 capsule during his performance with Becky G.; Rod Stewart, recognized with lifetime achievement awards and performing with an SM58 and Janet Jackson, relying on an ADX1 body-pack transmitter.
