PixelFLEX's FLEXCurve LED Tiles Designed in Impressive Mobile Stage Setup for 45th Annual Dove Awards

45th annual Dove Awards with PixelFLEX

The 45th Annual Dove Awards, recently held in Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University, utilized the PixelFLEX FLEXCurve LED tile as the backbone to all video production.

With 46 categories, the award ceremony was hosted by Bart Millard of MercyMe and Lecrae. There were a number of performers from the vast family of christian and gospel music genre including the Newsboys, Natalie Grant, Hezekiah Walker, King and Country, Erica Campbell, Pat Boone, Mercy Me, and Mandisa among many others.

This year was also a monumental year for the Dove Awards marking its 45th year of the ceremony that unites and honors their community. It was also the 50th anniversary of the Gospel Music Association as a whole.

Such an important event required impactful and unforgettable visuals. Serviced through Elite Multimedia Productions, the 8mm FLEXCurve LED tile was used to create an overhead crown and four moving LED set carts allowing for multiple looks throughout the night's show. The opening of the show was designed to arrange the overhead crown and set carts into one large wall in order to have a greater visual workspace to introduce the show. The crown then raised and the set carts pulled away to be used in a variety of ways to lend efficiency and variety to the multiple performing artists as the show continued.

Additionally, the features of the FLEXCurve added to the benefits in both design and logistics that the event found to be crucial to its success. Featuring a compact, strong and modular design, made of heavy-duty aluminum weighing in at only 39lb, FLEXCurve's tiles can be adjusted from -10- to 10-degree curve, allowing both convex and concave curves and even more creative freedom. Introduced to the market at LDI 2013, the LED video tile also has a rig and click installation system, making for a seamless, fluid connection between panels. Strategic handle placements allow for an easy set up by a single person, eliminating the need for multiple hands to prep before and during a show.
