White Light Acquires Shock Solutions and Expands Video Services

White Light's Stuart Crane, Andy Hook, Holly Gough, and Lee Dennison

Entertainment production supplier White Light has reached a deal with video and lighting technology firm Shock Solutions that will expand the company's offering of video, media, and projection services for clients in the broadcast, event production, and commercial markets.

Founded in 1971, White Light is a supplier of technical production solutions throughout the UK, Europe, and worldwide. Shock Solutions has over ten years in the industry and is a forerunner in the field of LED lighting and audio-visual equipment solutions. The two companies will combine staff and assets under the name White Light and will be based from White Light's current offices in Wimbledon, London. Shock Solutions managing director Andy Hook will join White Light as technical solutions director.

Hook comments on the partnership: "We are proud to be joining forces with White Light after many years of working together on various projects. The company's established reputation, skills, and resources mean that not only will we continue working to our current high standards, but that we can increase the scale and complexity of projects we take on." He further adds: "In the rapidly converging worlds of lighting and video, this deal places White Light in the ideal position to become visual technology experts. As LED installations and integrated visual technologies become popular in a wider range of markets, White Light is able to use both its experience and extensive stock to offer the best solutions for any client."

Bryan Raven, managing director at White Light, sees the move as a natural progression, following the company's recent expansion into audio services earlier this year and its continued success in the events and installation markets.

"Our clients are always at the heart of any plans for the future. Adding specialist video knowledge and resources to our team allows us to offer our clients even more options while ensuring the same quality that they expect from White Light."

In January, the company announced the addition of audio services for installation, events, and trade markets, appointing former Sound By Design director Lee Dennison as head of audio. Last month it also launched Studio15, a new state-of-the-art studio facility based at its Wimbledon premises. Led by Studio15 coordinator Holly Gough, it offers a large meeting space with video conferencing, audio, and video editing suites, along with a 120sqm dedicated rehearsal space. With comprehensive lighting, sound, and video resources consolidated under one roof, White Light will now offer complete production solutions for events, broadcast projects, and installations. The company will continue to distribute a wide range of lighting, rigging, staging, audio, and video products to businesses and consumers through their in-house sales team and online shop.
