Meyer Sound Spotlights D-Mitri Digital Audio Platform at USITT

D-Mitri, an award-winning digital audio platform incorporating advanced show control features, will be the principal focus at Meyer Sound's booth exhibit (Booth #940) at the USITT Conference and Stage Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina. A Meyer Sound presentation entitled "Audio, Ethernet, and the Theatre" will give attendees an inside look at the network-centric foundation in D-Mitri and its applications.

Built around the emerging AVB Audio/Video Bridging networking standards, D-Mitri is a digital audio processing and distribution platform with matrixing and routing capabilities. D-Mitri's gigabit-based multichannel processing and distribution platform combines powerful performance (96 kHz/24-bit conversion with up to 32-bit floating point internal processing) with enhanced configuration flexibility and a sophisticated yet streamlined software user interface.

At the recent ISE show in Amsterdam, D-Mitri was named recipient of the 2011 InAVation Award for the "Most InAVative Commercial Audio Product (Non-loudspeaker)." Demonstrations of D-Mitri will be conducted throughout the exhibition on Meyer Sound's booth.

As an extension of Meyer Sound's international audio education program and to support USITT's professional development efforts, "Audio, Ethernet, and the Theatre" will provide an overview of core D-Mitri networking capabilities that enable distribution and control of theatre audio systems. Included will be a discussion of the open-source AVB standards with an emphasis on how sound designers, directors, and producers will benefit from the fully networked theater sound systems of the future.

Scheduled for March 10 from 5:30-6:45pm, "Audio, Ethernet, and the Theatre" will be led by Richard Bugg, digital products support specialist at Meyer Sound and Ellen Juhlin, D-Mitri project manager. This session is part of the USITT Sound Commission program.
