Renkus-Heinz Reports a Successful AES

At the 131st Audio Engineering Society Convention at New York's Jacob Javits Center, which drew16,000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors, Renkus-Heinz was busy holding court on two fronts. The company says its booth saw a steady flow of visitors eager to check out the IC2 and the newest iteration of Iconyx, the IC8-R MkII, and IC16-R MkII, featuring triple tweeter design. Other products on display included the CF101LA modular point source array and the IC Live digitally steerable line array.

Downstairs in the demo room, senior vice president Ralph Heinz powered through a marathon series of well-attended demos of the company's IC2 (IC Squared), the first digitally steerable line array that combines the power and focus of point source loudspeaker technology with the control and flexibility of a digitally steered line array. Live Sound/Pro Sound Web's senior technical editor Ken DeLoria writing in the magazine's show report, noted "Renkus-Heinz ICĀ² provides sound quality the likes of which I haven't heard in ages. The sonic signature could easily be mistaken for a large-format studio monitor, but the power output is capable of handling large clubs, houses of worship, theatres, corporate events, and more. I sat through the demo twice -- presented by Ralph Heinz -- because it was a delight to listen to."

Renkus-Heinz marketing manager Margie Ulm remarked, "AES continues to be a very important show for us. It's one of the few shows where engineers and manufacturers can truly meet one-on-one with our users. This year's show was no exception, attendance was up, and those attending were very focused. It was a great show."
