PLASA Show to Move to Grand Hall at London Olympia for 2020

Olympia London

What does this mean for PLASA Show 2020 exhibitors? Scroll down to find out more...

Ahead of the doors opening to PLASA Show 2019, PLASA has announced new plans for the 2020 edition of the event. The re-development of Olympia announced earlier this year alongside the increased demand from both exhibitors and visitors alike has enabled the PLASA Show to move into Olympia's Grand Hall from next year. The move will also see a slight alteration of dates, back to the original date line of September 6 - 8, 2020.

"With the exciting redevelopment happening at Olympia over the next few years the opportunity has arisen for us to move the PLASA Show to the Grand Hall from 2020 onwards," confirmed Sophie Atkinson, head of events at PLASA. "This is a great opportunity for the show as it allows us to ensure all exhibitors are on a single floor and gives a greater number of stands rigging height above them."

The move from Olympia's National Hall to a larger space at the exhibition center highlights the strength of the PLASA Show since it moved back to West London in 2016. The event has grown year-on-year both in terms of exhibitor and visitor numbers since the move to Olympia, and this latest decision has been taken to ensure the ability for future expansion of the show.

"Moving to the Grand Hall gives huge potential for the show to continue its growth, allowing the chance for exhibitors to take larger spaces as well as being able to welcome more new exhibitors," noted PLASA managing director, Peter Heath. "The reinvigoration we have seen for the show since we returned to our spiritual home of West London combined with the huge popularity of our PLASA Focus events has provided us with this opportunity. With this new location within one of the most prestigious events centers in London we can ensure a sustainable future in our long-term home."

A further benefit of the move has seen dates for the 2020 edition of the PLASA Show return to its traditional scheduling of September 6 - 8. This should be an advantage to visitors and exhibitors who work in the broadcast sector as there will no longer be a direct clash with IBC in Amsterdam.

"Moving the dates of the event back to our original schedule will be a huge positive for visitors and exhibitors," stated Heath. "As a global event that brings an international crowd to London, we do our best to ensure that our reach is as wide as possible. Avoiding the direct clash with an equally important international event will help us to ensure that we attract the broadest possible section of visitors and exhibitors."

The move to the Grand Hall means that every exhibitor from the 2019 show can be accommodated with the same or larger square meterage, ensuring a smooth transition to the new, larger exhibition hall.

A representative from PLASA will aim to visit each exhibitor during this year's show (September 15 - 17, 2019) to discuss stand options. There will be no obligation to book onsite, but the opportunity to have an agreement in principle to ensure a position at the show next year.

Exhibitors that have any immediate feedback about the move please get in touch with Ashley Harwood (01323 524149) or Sophie Atkinson (07789 872733).
