CAST Group is set to make its mark at Event Live Expo in Los Angeles next month, with a raft of new products to showcase alongside a keynote presentation by CAST's product manager and resident lighting design expert, Jim Hutchison.

The Expo, which takes place at The Event Deck, L.A. Live, from February 5-7, will see Release 30 of the company's industry standard lighting design, programming, and pre-visualization suite WYSIWYG make its show debut, alongside the brand new 2013 edition of 3D event design and planning software, Vivien. Both graphic software applications have caused a stir in recent weeks following their new updates; WYSIWYG R30 bringing new features such as fastFan and fastFocus, and Vivien 2013 adding virtual view selection and drawing purge.

Also on show will be the market-ready version of CAST's ground-breaking BlackTrax system, the world's first solution for realtime 6D tracking of people or objects. BlackTrax delivers dynamic positional data with quarter-inch accuracy to lighting, audio, media, and robotic camera output technologies. It was the star product at recent shows such as NAB2012, where it won a prestigious IABM Game-Changers Award, and PLASA 2012 where it scooped the exclusive Gold Innovation Award. Visitors to the CAST booth 247 at Event Live will witness BlackTrax in action and watch it track them with moving lights as they walk, jump, or even dance around the booth.

BlackTrax will also be a focus of Hutchison's presentation, which takes place on day three of the Expo as part of a summit program that will examine the key issues affecting today's entertainment production and venues. Hutchison, who alongside his work with CAST is also editor of renowned lighting news website JimOnLight, will host a seminar entitled: "What Does Today's Entertainment Industry Really Need with Realtime Tracking?" In it, he will discuss the relevance and need for realtime tracking, its past and present, and the role of BlackTrax in the future of live productions.

Hutchison comments: "This is a great rollout opportunity for the BlackTrax revolution and to show off how WYSIWYG is absolutely perfect for this market. Entertainment production professionals are constantly looking for new practical technologies that deliver the creative edge without breaking the bank. Ultimately it's about delivering that totally immersive experience for the audience -- the WOW! -- and we've got it."

Event Live Expo is a summit showcasing the latest equipment and services essential in delivering mind-blowing live event experiences, where industry professionals can experience cutting-edge technologies and innovations first-hand. It takes place from February 5-7 at The Event Deck, a 106,000 square-foot venue within the L.A. Live complex at 800 W. Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90015. Admission is free.
