NATEAC 2012 Schedule Now Available Online

Theatre design professionals attending the North American Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference (NATEAC) can begin to choose the sessions they will attend, using the session schedule at the URL below.

The 2012 conference, scheduled for July 22- 23 at the midtown New York Hilton, promotes communication between the architects, engineers, consultants, and manufacturers responsible for designing and building new theatres and renovating existing performance facilities in North America and the end-users operating these venues.

Twenty-four panel sessions are scheduled across the two days of the conference. Each session involves a panel discussion featuring leading professionals in theatre design and technology.

Of special interest to registered architects attending the conference, eleven of this year's sessions provide AIA/CES continuing education credits. Architects with experience in theatre design will find the sessions invaluable to their work, while those who are newer to the discipline will learn about important aspects of this specialized field.

The sessions currently eligible for AIA/CES credits include these topics of special interest to architects:

• Stage Automation
• Safety by Design
• The Changing Infrastructure of Performance Spaces in the Era of Solid State Lighting
• How to be the Perfect Client
• Restoration of Pre-Depression Era Theatres
• ADA 2012: Reviewing the 2010 Standards and Their Impact on our Industry
• Building Code Requirements for Entertainment Installations
• Lincoln Center: The $1.5 billion Renovation. Lessons Learned?
• Efficient Design Ideas for Theatres-How to do More with Less
• Core Values-What Makes a Great Theatre
• Non-Traditional Spaces for Classical Music

The deadline for advertising in the event program, which will be printed and distributed to all conference attendees, panelists, and sponsors requires reservations by June 14, with artwork due to the NATEAC staff by June 25.

"We are expecting more than three hundred attendees, coming to us from more than a dozen countries on five continents," said Bill Sapsis, NATEAC chairman and organizer. "The program is the best way to put your company's name in front of the people who will design and build the theatres of the future."

NATEAC 2012 features more than 60 panelists speaking at 24 sessions, on topics ranging from the core values that make a great theatre to the impact of solid state lighting and promoting sustainable design. Richard Pilbrow, one of the world's leading theatre design consultants and author of A Theatre Project (PLASA Media, 2011), will give the keynote address on July 22.

Registration for NATEAC is now open. For more information, visit the URL below.
