Martin MAC III AirFX Is Now Shipping

Martin Professional MAC III AirFX

After a successful ramp up and pre-order campaign, Martin Professional's newest MAC III family luminaire is now shipping. The 1,500W MAC III AirFX is an extremely bright and highly versatile lighting fixture, a new concept that combines hard-edge, mid-air effects and a wash field in one luminaire.

Capable of projecting a dense, hard-edge beam with stunning mid-air aerial effects, the company says the MAC III AirFX's unique optical system allows it to adjust from a tight beam to a radiant wash instantly for greater design flexibility.

Bright at nearly 60,000 lumens, the MAC III AirFX is powerful enough to cut through light from even the most powerful LED screens. An aerial effects wheel houses a set of four gobo designs, interchangeable, and indexable effects that can be continuously rotated. A variable iris is also included when a tight beam is required.

The MAC III AirFX houses a 1:5 zoom with auto-linked focus that is fast with gobo effects that hold focus through the entire zoom range and at varying throws. Beam gobos can adjust along the entire zoom and according to the company, light output is constant throughout the entire zoom range with no visible beam jump from tight to wide.

The MAC III AirFX uses a special nine-inch precision PC lens for an eye-catching and fat-beam look with less spill than micro-Fresnels. The beam looks brilliant in mid-air and gives a powerful visual punch to any show. An optional Fresnel lens is also available.

An enhanced CMY color mixing system gives a wide range of vibrant colors across the spectrum plus a broad range of uniform pastels. A fixed color wheel houses seven interchangeable slots for an even broader color range. Users can create color bumps and splits and exceptional color blending with split colors. The color gamut is complemented with a variable CTO.

The MAC III AirFX houses a smooth dimming system with a choice of four dimming curves, fades that are completely uniform across the beam all the way to blackout. It also includes a separate shutter for fast and punchy strobe effects as well as a total front lens blackout.
