Blizzard Lighting Introduces the RokBox EXA Six-In-One Par

Blizzard Lighting RokBox EXA

Blizzard Lighting continues to offer new LED products with the announcement of the RokBox EXA, the latest member of their box shaped family of LED wash fixtures. The original RokBox (RGBW) was first introduced in 2012, followed shortly by the RokBox 5 (RGBAW and RGBW+UV). Now comes the release of the RokBox EXA.

The RokBox EXA is a solidly built LED par fixture with a cast-aluminum housing that's approximately 9" square and comes fitted with 18 15W (six by 2.5W) TianXin RGBAW + Ultraviolet six-in-one LED's. Full on, it will throw more than 28,000 lux output at one-meter, while consuming only 147W of power. The company says it's a versatile fixture that's capable of achieving any mixed color imaginable, very natural looking white color temperatures, and even intense 395-400nM ultraviolet light output.

James Keeley, the lighting programmer/show designer for Blizzard Lighting was recently asked about the benefits of adding UV to an already diverse RGBAW LED fixture. "The possibilities are greater than you can imagine," said Keeley. "For example, you might be using a full UV/blacklight wash, then pop off a brilliant white strobe or burst of light. Or create a variety of deeply saturated, never-before-seen (in a LED fixture) hues by adding just a bit of any the RGBAW channels to the full UV intensity. I can honestly say that I think these new six-in-one LEDs are the end-all solution for the most color mixing options on the market today."

An easy to use four-button LED control panel can be found on the back of the RokBox EXA that gives users direct access to all the features and settings such as 0-100% RGBAW plus UV intensity, strobe, built-in programs, auto mode, and sound active mode. It also features a flicker-free constant-current 400hz LED driver and five separate user selectable 32-bit dimming curves which can be individually selected through the control panel or accessed directly via DMX. These five different dimming curves allow for different amounts of steps for much smoother (and slower) dimming capabilities. The RokBox EXA can be controlled via DMX using either three-, six-, eight-, ten-, or 11-channels of DMX.

The RokBox EXA also comes equipped with dual hanging brackets with locking knobs for secure mounting, plus industry standard powerCON compatible power and three-pin DMX input/output connections. And just like all RokBox LED fixtures, the rear connections are strategically placed in a recessed area on the back of the unit which will allow you to use the fixture in any position, including flat on the floor.

The RokBox is backed by Blizzard's two-year warranty.
