Chauvet Professional's COLORdash Par-Hex 12 Combines Six Colors in Each LED

The COLORdash Par-Hex 12 from Chauvet Professional

The new COLORdash Par-Hex 12 from Chauvet Professional is a high-output par-style light that contains 12 10W "Hex" LEDs, each comprised of six colors -- red, green, blue, amber, white, and UV -- for the ultimate versatility in a color wash fixture.

Featuring a broad color temperature range of 2,800K to 10,000K, the COLORdash Par-Hex 12 is also bright, emitting 927 lux at 5m, yet very compact, measuring just 4.41" x 11.73" x 12.72" (112 x 298 x 323mm). Silent, flicker-free, and completely void of distractive RGB shadows, it is ideal for a wide range of applications -- from concert tours, live productions and special events, to nightclubs, retail stores, churches and other fixed installations, to broadcast and studio lighting.

The COLORdash Par-Hex 12's six-in-one LEDs give designers the tools to achieve the most subtle nuances and moods in color blending. For example, its deeply saturated colors can be combined with white to produce soft pastels, or with amber to add radiance and afterglow. Any desired gradient of white -- from warm tungsten to stark daylight -- can also be created, thanks to the presence of both amber and white diodes in each LED. The addition of UV to the mix, gives the COLORdash Par-Hex 12 the ability to function as a straight ultraviolet light, as well as to blend unique colors that take luminosity to a new dimension.

"Our exciting new Hex LED technology makes the COLORdash Par-Hex 12 one of the most versatile lights Chauvet Professional has ever created -- and a designer's dream," said Michael Graham, product manager for Chauvet Professional. "Not only can you produce the widest palette of colors imaginable, but if you need ultraviolet light, you can simply shut off everything else and run the unit's UV diodes, thereby eliminating the requirement for a separate UV fixture. This flexibility, of course, adds value and makes the COLORdash Par-Hex 12 a great addition to rental inventories."

"From an aesthetic standpoint, you can create some amazing colors when you combine the UV with other shades," added Graham. "Adding ultraviolet light produces iridescent colors with incredible pop that you can't get with standard RGBAW fixtures. Opening these possibilities will stretch designers' imagination to new limits!"

The COLORdash Par-Hex 12 also offers vast possibilities from a utility standpoint. The CE and MET-approved fixture features multi-voltage operation (100 to 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz); power linking (17 units at 120V, 30 units at 230V); Neutrik powerCON input/output; and three- and five-pin DMX connectors. Five DMX profiles, from simple to complex (three-, six-, eight-, 12-, and 13-channel), provide great programming versatility, while four distinct dimming curves make for easy replacement of incandescent lights.

Other features include an electronic shutter/strobe, internal automated programs, and a built-in gel frame holder. Weighing just 10lb (4.54kg), the low-profile COLORdash Par-Hex 12 is easy to transport and install. It includes a convenient split-yoke bracket that eliminates the need for floor stands.
