ETC Helps Behind the Scenes Care for Those in Need

Steve Terry, ETC, with the check for Behind the Scenes from the ongoing proceeds from the sales of ETC's iRFR and aRFR (Radio Focus Remote) app for iPhone, iPod Touch, and Android.

At the USITT show in March, Steve Terry of ETC presented a check for $20,262 to Behind the Scenes, which reflected ongoing proceeds from sales of ETC's iRFR and aRFR (Radio Focus Remote) application for iPhone, iPod Touch, and Android. The donation brings ETC's total Behind the Scenes contributions to date to just under $170,000.

These apps, developed by ETC software engineer Chris Mizerak and Anders Ekvall have proved incredibly popular and become the gift that keeps on giving to the charity. When ETC employee Luke Delwiche suggested giving the proceeds from the app to charity he could not have known what that would end up meaning to so many people.

Rick Rudolph, the chair of the Behind the Scenes committee, said, "We continue to receive more and more applications for assistance from individuals in dire situations. ETC's donations literally make the difference between homelessness and having a roof over one's head for many of our grant recipients. ETC, its employees, and all those who have purchased the iRFR and aRFR apps should be proud of what they have done to care for their colleagues in need. They have truly made a difference."

Dennis Varian, senior product development manager, stated "We are gratified by the continuing contributions made possible by the success of iRFR and aRFR. It is also great to see other companies participating in the 'Pledge a Product' program. We challenge other companies to participate in this program."

The ESTA Foundation's Behind the Scenes program provides entertainment technology industry members who are ill or injured with grants that may be used for basic living and medical expenses.
