ETC to Show New Products at PLASA Focus: Baltimore

ETC has a lot in store for the PLASA Focus: Baltimore tradeshow. Booth #608 will be packed with the latest ETC gear, including Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr, Source Four Mini LED, and Selador Desire D22 LED luminaires, along with the Foundation Rigging Controller and Gio lighting control console. ETC will also be taking part in the PLASA Professional Development Program, presenting the popular Layers of Light demonstration.

After years of research and experimentation with the x7 Color System, ETC has created a new LED product with the brightest output and boldest color rendering, the company says. The Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr luminaire has a lime-green emitter that increases the luminaire's lumen output in open white and light tints. It also has more red in the mix, which means it covers more of the color spectrum and creates ambers, golds, pinks, and blues that are up to 300 percent brighter than the original Source Four LED. The Source Four LED Series 2 is a multipurpose tool that can fill any role in a lighting installation, including front-of-house and long-throw positions. Says ETC Fixtures product manager Jim Uphoff: "It can easily be used to light talent on stage or on screen, with natural white light that can be tweaked to compliment individual skin tones."

At less than 2lb and just 9" long, the Source Four Mini LED is the same size as the tungsten Source Four Mini and comes in the same beam angles, but the LED version features an energy-efficient 35,000-hour, 12W LED lamp. Available in portable, canopy-mount and track-mount versions, the Source Four Mini LED is the right fit for installations where larger fixtures can't go. "The Source Four Mini LED allows office buildings, museums, art galleries and other venues to get the great optics, functionality and quality of the Source Four Mini, while staying within energy guidelines," describes ETC architectural product manager Bryan Palmer.

The Selador Desire D22 comes in at just 8" long and less than 7lb. "The D22 might be small in size, but it's big in functionality," says Uphoff. "It has the same quality color-mixing, smooth dimming, intuitive user interface and stand-alone operation that the Desire line is known for." The D22 is available in four x7 arrays (Studio HD, Studio Daylight, Studio Tungsten and Lustr+) and three installation types: a portable version that accepts standard C-clamps, a canopy-mount design and a track-mounted model.

The Gio lighting control console is a compact board designed for smaller control rooms or touring shows. It features the Eos family's powerful hardware and software, as well as the ETC syntax, and boasts a fast, accessible control surface; backlit keypad; two integral, articulating multi-touch displays; and support for up to three external monitors.

These products and more will be on ETC's booth (#608) and available for demonstrations. Other ETC equipment will be on display throughout the tradeshow, in the booths of ETC's official reps and dealers.
