d&b Kicks Off the Summer Season with PLASA Focus: Baltimore 2014

d&b audiotechnik's D80 amplifier

The school year may be over, but the Loyola University Maryland's Reitz Arena was buzzing May 8 - 9. Instead of students or sports stars, however, the gymnasium was flooded with the entertainment industry's leading professionals for PLASA Focus: Baltimore. Gathered to network, discover contemporary technology, and learn innovative audio trends, this year's convention brought together the best in the business. One of the stops was booth 407 featuring pro audio company d&b audiotechnik.

"These events provide an ideal opportunity to stay on the cutting edge of sound technology," says Roger Keim, of d&b. "We were especially enthusiastic about this event as we were able to show off the new D80 amplifier. As a sound guy myself, it is always fun to talk about a product I believe in to others who are as passionate about audio." With easy to navigate color TFT touchscreen and seamless integration with the d&b ArrayCalc and R1 Remote control V2 software, the D80 provides the third key workflow element that makes system set up a fast, flawless operation.

Another recent addition to the d&b product range and on display at the booth, were the xC-Series column loudspeakers, specifically the 24C and 24C-E. Designed for large reverberant spaces, the xC-Series provides an elegant solution for delivering high levels of intelligibility in difficult acoustic environments. With effective horizontal pattern control the 24C is able to reduce reflection and allow gain before feedback when working with an open microphone. The 24C-E passive extension can be added for additional vertical pattern control down to 190 Hz.

For those new to education-driven d&b audiotechnik, Baltimore also saw the presentation of the d&b workflow at booth 407 as well as a seminar entitled "Demystifying Audio." It takes considerable skill to effectively deconstruct the complexity of pro audio back to the basics. The company says d&b, however, has truly mastered the ability to engage audiences of all skill levels. From the start of the day on Thursday, through to the end of the conference on Friday, d&b was committed to enriching the audio culture of PLASA Focus: Baltimore 2014.

See d&b audiotechnik at PLASA Focus: Austin, September 9 - 10.
