Altinex Announces TP115-120 / TP115-121 Compact Video Twisted Pair Transmitter / Receiver

Altinex announces the availability of the TP115-120 and TP115-121 compact video twisted pair (TP) transmitter and receiver. The TP115-120 / TP115-121 represent an excellent choice for integrators and AV technology managers looking for a means of distributing computer and HDTV video signals over extended distances to reach the presentation display or projector.

The Altinex TP115-120 provides transmission of computer and HDTV video signals over twisted pair-type (CAT-5/6) cable while the TP115-121 receives these signals over twisted pair-type (CAT-5/6) cable. The units offer video equalization (developed and patented by Altinex) that facilitates extended cable runs, and a signal-detect feature shows when a signal is present. With the TP115-120 TP transmitter adjacent to the computer / video source and the TP115-121 TP receiver adjacent to the destination display/projector -- and the CAT-5/6 cable spanning the distance between these two units -- the computer and HDTV video signals can travel impressive distances. The TP115-120 and TP115-121 are compatible with all VGA resolutions and all HDTV signals. These two units operate with either shielded or unshielded cable.

The TP115-120 / TP115-121 TP transmitter and receiver are streamlined and lightweight -- making these units a terrific choice for applications that have small space requirements. The TP115-120 transmitter receives the video source's output via a 15-pin HD female connector. The transmitter outputs the signal over the CAT-5/6 line utilizing an RJ-45 network connector. At the other end of the CAT-5/6 line, the TP115-121 receiver receives the signal via its RJ-45 network connector and then outputs the video via a 15-pin HD female connector.

To further ensure optimum performance, the Altinex TP115-120 / TP115-121 transmitter and receiver both support EDID (Extended Display Identification Data). This information is used by a display to describe its capabilities to a video source -- thus ensuring accurate picture representation. For the end user, this capability ensures easy operation.

Grant Cossey, Altinex vice president of sales, commented on the company's TP115-120 and TP115-121 compact video twisted pair (TP) transmitter and receiver, "The TP115-120 and TP115-121 are a compact, value-packed solution for those situations where computer video signals need to travel considerable distance in order to reach the projector or video display. Used together, these units enable one to take advantage of existing CAT-5/6 cabling infrastructure and easily resolve issues of distance between the video source and the destination display or projector. This is a terrific means of addressing a very common signal transport issue."
