Jeff Ravitz Designs Lighting for New Wayne Dyer PBS Special

Jeff Ravitz, Intensity Advisors

Jeff Ravitz of Intensity Advisors was the lighting designer for best-selling author Dr. Wayne Dyer's newest PBS pledge drive special, I Can See Clearly Now. For his tenth inspirational program for public television, Dr. Dyer appeared before a live audience at the California Center For the Arts in Escondido, California. The show is premiered March 4, nationwide on the PBS television network, and will continue to run throughout March. The title of the broadcast takes its name from Dr. Dyer's most recent book release. Historically, Dr. Dyer's specials have brought in record-setting pledge donations.

Ravitz explains a bit about the philosophy behind the lighting of an evening with Wayne Dyer. "There is a careful balance that must be achieved with the lighting in order to preserve the intimate relationship Dr. Dyer establishes with his audience during these 90-minute talks. I am ever-mindful to create an inclusive, two-way atmosphere rather than a tone of speaker vs audience. The audience is lit with subtlety to integrate them into the process so Dr. Dyer, and the cameras, can feed off their reactions and expressions."

The show also features music and stories by three of Dyer's daughters and musician Alex Woodard. This is Ravitz's fourth special for Dr. Dyer.

Ravitz is currently preparing to work on the 30th anniversary TED Conference in Vancouver, BC.
