Zylight Demonstrates Improved F8 LED Fresnel -- Exhibits at CCW 2014, SATIS Expo

Zylight's F8 LED Fresnel

Zylight, a manufacturer of LED lighting solutions, will showcase its improved F8 LED Fresnel at Content & Communications World (CCW) 2014, which runs November 12 - 13 in New York City (USHIO America booth 647), and SATIS Expo in Paris November 18 - 20 (EURO LIGHT System booth D59). The reengineered F8 still delivers close to the light output of a traditional 1,000W Fresnel, but only draws 90W and collapses to less than 4" thick for easy transport.

Among the improvements that were introduced earlier this year, the yoke mount has been angled to accommodate 90-degree stand mounting and provide greater positioning range, with all locking and adjustment performed with a single knob. On the light, the self-locking focus now automatically holds focus position, improved bellow design offers smoother operation, and a new heat sink orientation provides better cooling.

"Since its debut, the F8 has been a big hit, but we wanted to make it even better," explained Joe Arnao, president of Zylight. "We've made some important refinements that improve performance without changing the features that made it such a success with production studios, ENG news crews, commercial producers, and filmmakers."

Available in daylight (5,600K) or tungsten (3,200K) versions, the F8 has a high CRI (Color Rendering Index) as well as a high TLCI (Television Lighting Consistency Index), and its 8" SCHOTT glass lens maintains single shadow traditional Fresnel beam shaping. The fully dimmable F8 features quantum dot technology to provide a more refined and balanced natural light output, with an adjustable beam spread (16- to 70-degrees) and patented focusing system for spot and flood operations.

Bright like an HMI, the F8 is a better choice for run-and-gun ENG applications -- it can be powered by a standard 14.4V camera battery or AC adapter, and it is water resistant (IP54) for use in challenging location conditions. Plus, it features full DMX operation, making it an ideal compact choice for studios looking for high quality lighting while saving grid space.

Zylight will also demonstrate the IS3c, a wide, high-output soft light with built-in controls for adjusting color temperature, color correction, and Zylight's Color Mode, which produces millions of colors without gels or filters. Zylight now offers a choice of a newly redesigned Chimera soft box or a spring loaded pop-up version designed by DoP Choice. The fully dimmable IS3c can serve as a background color wash light or as a wide soft light. Both the IS3c and F8 are equipped with ZyLink wireless technology, which makes it easy to link multiple Zylights for simultaneous remote control.
