Stage Drape Manufacturer, Sew What? Inc. Hires Frank Goodman as New Lead Purchasing Agent

Frank Goodman, Sew What? Inc.

Stage drapery manufacturer Sew What? Inc., has hired Frank Goodman as the company's lead purchasing agent. Goodman has a wide range of knowledge and staging experience, having worked a variety of jobs across the entertainment industry, including work in lighting and as a stage manager.

Megan Duckett, principal at Sew What? Inc, and sister company, Rent What? Inc., reports that Goodman recently "hails from the Bruno Mars tour and the Long Beach Symphony. He will be a tremendous asset to the team."

Despite his British accent, Goodman reports that he's been in the US and Los Angeles area for some 29 years -- although frequently on tour for as much as nine months out of the year. Last year he traveled with entertainer Bruno Mars across the US, to Europe, and to Australia. (Mars is perhaps best known by most for last year's halftime show during the Super Bowl XLVIII.) Asked as to his favorite tour, Goodman recalled in 1994 he was with Bette Midler, whose elaborate set included dozens of motorized wheelchairs for mermaids' movements across the stage.

As lead purchasing agent, Goodman's job will be to acquire quality drapery fabric and other staging materials at a good price and with reliable vendors. Goodman states, "I'm also looking forward to responsibilities in handling those 'oddball requests' that involve investigating where to find new materials and supplies. We'll have a busy season coming up in January as well, with production for band draperies as we work on staging for their spring and summer tours."

Goodman's happy to be collaborating with Sew What? and Rent What's sales staff as they work together to determine and procure project's materials; as well as with Duckett, who he notes is very "hands on" with all phases of the business' operations. He says he also likes what he's seen of the larger Sew What? 35-or-so staff members, noting how it's a close knit, family-like group, that's super friendly and interested in one another.
