ENTTEC Launches 8PX and 8PW LED Tape

ENTTEC's 8 PW LED tape

From film to television to theater and the concert stage, there are several tools beloved by designers; a recent addition to that list of must-have products is LED tape. ENTTEC offers easy-to-use, bright, LED tape, and announces the 8PW and 8PX series of LED tape. Both offer designers a new option: White LEDs.

Both the 8PX and 8PW series of LED tape are individually addressable and suitable for both stage and architectural applications, as well as any other indoor application; their use is only limited by the imagination of the designer. The 8PW and 8PX LED tape offers designers flexibility as well; they can be joined together, cut to a smaller length, and are available in three different densities: 30, 60, and 144 pixels per meter. As expected, the brightness increases with the pixel density. Both the 8PW and the 8PX tape are backed by 3M adhesive double-side tape, making application even easier; both feature a 120-degree beam angle as well.

The 8PX is a full-color LED tape that includes white. For designers, this means that an unlimited rainbow of pastels have now been included in their color repertoire. "The addition of white to the LED tape color palette extends the color gamut into a realm of tints that are really nice for jobs where vivid saturated colors are not the order of the day," notes Jeremy Kumin, general manager of Enttec Americas. When used alone, the 8PW white has a color temperature of 4,350K. The color order within each pixel is green-red-blue-white (GRBW.)

The 8PW LED tape celebrates white in three shades: Warm (3,200K), cool (7,500K), and amber (1,765K). Kumin notes, "Essentially, it is monochrome -- there are no rainbows here, just lots of brightness on the output, while remaining flexible in terms of color temperature. This is especially exciting for the world of TV and film." Like all of the Enttec pixel tape, the 8PX comes in different densities, which translates to different levels of brightness. At 30 LEDs per meter, the amber LEDs has 21 lumens per meter; on the other end of the spectrum, at 144 LEDs per meter, there are 331 lumens per meter. For the 8PW, the color order within each pixel is white cool-amber-white warm (WCAWW.)

The 8PW and the 8PX lines of LED tape are both designed to be used seamlessly and almost effortlessly with the Enttec pixel line of products. This includes the designer friendly Pixelator, the Pixie Driver, and the Pixel Links.
