NCAA Final Four Highlights GoVision's Busiest Week Ever

GoVision constructed and suspended four massive LED screens beneath the stadium's iconic 60-yard-long video screens to enable fans seated courtside to watch replays and see the scoreboard.

GoVision's state-of-the-art LED panels gave fans and spectators great views at more than 20 events -- from Palm Springs, California, to Nashville, Tennessee -- marking the highest-grossing week in its 11-year history. The Argyle, Texas-based company is one of the nation's premier suppliers of customized modular LED walls and turnkey mobile LED units.

GoVision is no stranger to the spotlight, but last week the lights were brighter than ever.

The highlight of the busy week cames Saturday when the 2014 NCAA Men's Final Four tipped-off at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. GoVision constructed and suspended four massive LED screens beneath the stadium's iconic 60-yard-long video screens to enable fans seated courtside to watch replays and see the scoreboard. The four-sided, scale-model video wall was configured with two 18' x 40' screens flanked by two 15' x 18' screens comprised of 468 Panasonic 8mm tiles.

"We are proud to have worked with the NCAA on the Final Four, and most of the regional tournaments, since 2008, and they are always a highlight of our year," said Chris Curtis, CEO of GoVision, LP, who also serves on the NCAA Local Organizing Committee. "Having the chance to work on this amazing event in our own backyard is just the icing on the cake. It's a genuine thrill seeing our screens hanging right above the court when the national championship tips off!"

In addition, GoVision provided a 3' x 50' low-profile LED ribbon board for the five courtside scorers tables, comprised of 60 GV5 indoor panels, and two LED shot clocks above the backstops. The screens hanging in the plazas outside AT&T Stadium were likewise part of GoVision's LED inventory, through an innovative partnership with the Dallas Cowboys.

GoVision also constructed five LED walls -- two measuring 48' x 24', two 9' x 16', and one 24' x 60' -- and all of the video production services for the three-day March Madness Music Festival featuring Bruce Springsteen, Jason Aldean, TimMcGraw, fun. and The Killers in downtown Dallas.

"The March Madness Music Festival is actually a bigger and more complicated undertaking than the games, especially since we're also responsible for production during the concerts," said Curtis.

Add in two more screens (and video production services) at the Tip-Off Tailgate presented by Infiniti and four corporate events tied to the tournament, and a total of 8,000-sq.-ft. (and 11.5 million pixels) of GoVision LEDs were scattered around North Texas just for Final Four Weekend. A technical crew of 55 made certain that every event went off without a hitch.

GoVision was also front and center at several other events last week, from coast to coast, including:
• NCAA Women's Final Four in Nashville
• NASCAR Victory Lane at the Duck Commander 500 and O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway
• PGA Shell Houston Open
• LPGA Kraft Nabisco Championship in Palm Springs
• USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships in Phoenix
• Jackson Hole Rendezvous Festival in Wyoming
• American Ninja Tour in Dallas
• Academy of Country Music Fan Jam in Las Vegas
• Chilifest 2014 in Snook, Texas

"We began 2014 at the NHL Winter Classic in Ann Arbor, worked the Super Bowl in New Jersey, provided screens for the NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans, and covered NASCAR races, PGA tournaments and dozens of other sporting and corporate events, festivals, and more over the past three months," said Curtis. "We opened our first West Coast offices in Los Angeles in February, and we've hired several more talented employees. I'd say it's been a pretty exciting year so far, and we've only just begun!"
