Grund Audio Design Announces GT '01' Series Loudspeakers

Grund Audio Design GT '01' series loudspeakers

Grund Audio Design, a manufacturer of loudspeaker and signal processing products for the audio professional, announces the availability of the GT '01' series loudspeakers. Optimized for use in houses of worship and other fixed installations as well as corporate presentations, meeting and other special events, the newest members of the product line -- the GT-601, GT-801, GT-1601, GT-1001, GT-1201, GT-1202, and GT-5301 -- all utilize two-way designs with a horn (with the exception of the GT-5301, a three-way system), resulting in a consistent sound.

Flat frequency response, low distortion, and wide dynamic range are the key attributes central to the new GT '01' series. Featuring enclosures manufactured from 13-ply birch, these loudspeakers are available in black or white finishes as well as natural wood that can be stained to the user's preferences.

All models utilize a horn that is made from 13-ply birch and carved out of the baffle board. These systems utilize a 90-degree circular horn pattern where a wide energy spectrum is required -- enabling these loudspeakers to provide optimized coverage throughout the space. Of particular note, the horn is strictly a wave device. There is no throat loading, which can induce distortion -- effectively delivering the purist sound quality physically possible, with quick and accurate focusing of the high frequencies, according to the company.

One of the most distinguishing characteristics of the new Grund Audio Design GT '01' series, the company says, lies in the ability of these loudspeaker systems to deliver a consistent sound -- regardless of the enclosure size. While a contractor may elect to deploy GT-601 enclosures (with their six-inch LF transducer and one-inch HF compression driver) in one area of a theater, for example, while placing GT-1201 enclosures (with their 12" LF transducer and one-inch HF compression driver) elsewhere in order to achieve greater SPL capability, the overall sonic quality of the sound remains consistent -- an important consideration where high levels of speech intelligibility and music reproduction characteristics are critical.

The seven new Grund Audio Design GT '01' series loudspeaker models offer a comprehensive range of sizes in order to provide broad horizontal dispersion and solid vertical throw. All models incorporate powder-coated, perforated steel grilles to protect the transducers and, for connectors, provide either NL4 speakOn or 5-Way Binders.

The Grund Audio Design GT '01' series loudspeakers perform well in clusters -- and mounting / installing these systems is accomplished by the availability of Grund Audio Design's hardware. All models can be outfitted with U-brackets, a swivel wall mount, or 3/8"-16 threaded mounting points, enabling installers to position these loudspeakers in a manner that delivers optimized sound quality and the ability to best incorporate the enclosures into the space aesthetically.

Frank Grund, president of Grund Audio Design, commented on the company's new GT '01' series loudspeakers: "The GT '01' series are a terrific choice for fixed installations and are equally well-suited to portable sound system applications such as corporate presentations and meetings. These systems deliver broad dispersion and, since all models share a common horn design, they are a great choice for music reproduction, as the horn doesn't induce any coloration typical of horn-loaded enclosures. The ability to mix various size enclosures without negatively impacting the consistency of the sound is also a significant benefit."
