LEWITT Reveals First Details of #Project1040 at The 2020 NAMM Show

A year of celebrations to mark the tenth anniversary of LEWITT is about to begin at the 2020 NAMM Show, where the Austrian microphone pioneer will invite everyone to participate in the final stages of a project that has been ten years in the making.

Under the working title #Project1040, Lewitt will take the final steps in a decade long journey to create nothing less than the ultimate microphone system, and everyone with a passion for pioneering sound is invited to share the ride.

Starting at The NAMM Show, anyone who wants to discover the future of microphone technology is invited to visit www.lewitt-audio.com/project1040. Those interested may even feel destined to become a beta tester and apply.

As the final phase of #Project1040 unfolds, the website will gradually fill with stories of the high-profile recording engineers who are helping to pioneer the #Project1040 beta testing program, plus news of the development process and of course details of the ultimate microphone system itself.

Meanwhile, at The NAMM Show, visitors to the Lewitt booth in Hall A, stand 11113, will be able to get an early glimpse of the future.

#Project1040 will be the primary focus of a milestone year for Lewitt. The company's story began in 2010, when lifelong audio devotee Roman Perschon picked up a pen and paper to begin sketching out his vision of microphone technology -- rejecting tradition in favor of pushing boundaries. His ideas rapidly evolved into a company-wide ambition to produce what was simply referred to as the ultimate microphone system.

"From the start, we asked ourselves what that phrase, the 'ultimate microphone system,' might mean in reality," says Lewitt founder and CEO Perschon. "I guess it's not surprising that it has taken us a long time to answer that question. Along the way, we have had some false starts, some ideas that have evolved or changed entirely, but the direction of travel has always been the same. Anyone who has watched the development of Lewitt, our company, our brand, and our technology, will recognize that this has always been where our path was leading."

At the heart of that journey was the recognition that if you want to create the ultimate microphone system, you have to fulfil all of the different notions of what a great sounding microphone can be. "It needs to give you the sound you envision, the one you already hear in your head," continues Perschon. "We found that tube technology provides the greatest flexibility to create different sound characteristics."

He concludes: "Lewitt has come a long way in ten years -- I'm very proud of everything that we've achieved together with our wonderful community of end-users. Now, with #Project1040, we are revealing the culmination of our first decade while pointing the way forward for the next ten years. I look forward to everyone finding out more on our social media channels and on www.lewitt-audio.com/project1040."

The 2020 NAMM Show is taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center between January 16th and 19th. Lewitt can be found in Hall A, booth 11113.
