beyerdynamic Touring Gear Series Live Performance Microphones Now Shipping

German audio specialist beyerdynamic announces the initial shipments of its new Touring Gear microphone series. A complete product range of more than 25 different mics for live performance, the Touring Gear Series showcases a new uniform and elegant design, top specifications, and a clear, easy to understand classification system, the company says.

"The new TG microphone series is the next step in our fireworks of innovation of the past years," says Wolfgang Luckhardt, managing director of beyerdynamic. "beyerdynamic has always been known as a pioneer in the development of microphones. But we had come to the point where we needed to redevelop and restructure our product portfolio in this area, as well. From a global perspective, our product range is immense.

Today's users do not always know immediately which product is the right one for them. Thus, a self-explanatory, logical product structure was the starting point of our considerations. But beyond that, we have made our sound channeling technology a true unique selling proposition. Sound channeling technology is responsible for that special 'beyerdynamic sound' -- as clear and natural as in real life. It makes us unique, and our customers appreciate that. This comprehensive microphone launch is a new milestone in the audio industry."

Mario Gebhardt, audio products development manager: "It is indeed a highlight when decades of experience in microphone engineering are combined with the ideas of young engineers and the requests coming from musicians and audio technicians and the result is not just a single microphone, but a whole series. Our objective was to get rid of unproductive relics, but to keep and refine proven strengths. At the same time, we have made space for new ideas and implemented them.

One such result is sound channeling technology, which lets us specifically work on acoustic design in order to achieve optimal sound, exceeding the standard parameters of a microphone system. When combined with outstanding design, excellent handling, and extreme sturdiness, the result is a thoroughly consistent live microphone series."

There are four categories of products:

The TG 30 series is, the company says, the perfect introduction into the world of beyerdynamic, an entry level series that can produce large sound within a small budget.

The TG 50 models are sure to impress, not only with their technical and tonal characteristics, but also with their looks, the company says. The series covers all applications related to the stage -- from vocals, instruments and drums to headsets and lavalier microphones.

The models of the TG 70 series go one step further in every direction and make no compromises: even better technical characteristics and even higher quality materials for even better sound, the company says. Every detail counts -- both during development and during manufacturing. The result: first-class microphones -- handcrafted in Germany.

The very top class within the Touring Gear microphone series comprises the TG 90 models -- especially finely crafted and beyond comparison in both design and sound. High-end equipment handcrafted in Germany for users who are looking for the "non plus ultra." The performance of the TG 90 series fulfils the most demanding requirements on the stage. The series includes the unique TGV90r ribbon microphone as well as the TG V96c true condenser microphone for live vocal applications.

Beyerdynamic products are distributed in the US through American Music and Sound.
