ArKaos Launches MediaMaster 3.0 with the Video Mapper at PLASA 2012

ArKaos MediaMaster Pro with Video Mapper

ArKaos announces that PLASA 2012 marks the official release of the new ArKaos MediaMaster 3.0 and the Video Mapper extension. This is the first time MediaMaster 3.0 will appear in the UK following its successful preview at Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt and InfoComm in Las Vegas, both earlier this year. ArKaos will be exhibiting in stand 2-R23 in the White Light zone at PLASA, running September 9-12 in London's Earls Court.

MediaMaster is a software solution for professional control of real-time video and effects that has been specifically developed for desk operators and lighting designers. MediaMaster turns any powerful computer into a fully-fledged professional media server, the company says.

With the introduction of MediaMaster 3.0, ArKaos combines functionality with simplicity of operation.

MediaMaster 3.0 retains user-friendliness and feature-rich details. The integration with the LED mapper and Kling-Net mapper is now made much more straightforward by threading each layer separately before sending it to the desired output. MediaMaster also offers a faster frame rate thanks to a new multi-threaded decoder for MPEG2 / H264 which allows higher resolution of up to 8K video (8192 × 4320 pixels) in MPEG2. Last but not least, the Pro version adds support for the all-new Video Mapper extension.

ArKaos' new Video Mapper makes MediaMaster stand out from the crowd, the company says. This extension to MediaMaster Pro allows fast and easy mapping of video onto irregularly shaped surfaces and through multiple outputs. It integrates tightly with MediaMaster Pro, allowing full management of display specifications such as resolution and frequency.

MediaMaster Pro sends the output from each layer to virtual "surfaces" in the Video Mapper, which can be scaled, shaped, and assigned to any physical output. Each of these outputs can display a full-screen visual or a composition of several mapped visuals. Just connect an output to a video projector and you can map the surfaces to any physical volumetric shape such as three-dimensional objects or buildings.

Designed with busy operators in mind, the Video Mapper makes it easy to create complex mapping projects in just a few clicks; it comes pre-loaded with easy-to-use, deformable surfaces (rectangles, grids, triangles) and also supports advanced features such as linear and curved deformations as well as cropping, grouping, or masking for each surface.

The Video Mapper can output independently to multiple video cards, allowing creating multi-display setups with several projectors (or LED walls) extremely easily. It lets you clearly identify one surface from another and tell on which output each surface sits. Surfaces can also be named for further easy differentiation.

The Video Mapper extension operates with MediaMaster Pro (in simple mode or fixture mode) and is compatible with both Mac and PC. As with all ArKaos software, the Video Mapper is extremely simple to learn and use, while still allowing designers to achieve powerful, complex results that can satisfy even the most demanding professionals.

License upgrades are available from MediaMaster Pro 2.x to MediaMaster Pro 3. It is possible to convert from MediaMaster Express to MediaMaster Pro 3.0.

The ArKaos MediaMaster Pro 3.0 is distributed in the UK by White Light Ltd.
