New ADB Products at Prolight+Sound 2019

ADB was present at Prolight+Sound 2019 with a large demo and hospitality area (HALLE 12.0 stand E59), where visitors could meet and discover all the new products as well as some classics.

ADB's CEO Simone Capeleto says, "ADB is traditionally linked closely with the theatre world, where our company has become established over the years with a vast range of lights, lighting controllers, and dimming systems. In recent years, we have decided to combine tradition and innovation by enhancing ADB's classic know-how with a range of LED lights equipped with state-of-the-art technology for versatile, high-quality lighting, which is particularly in demand in theatres. Today, therefore, we know that our distributors and customers can not only count on our classic catalogue, with long-standing products such as the Warp and the timeless Eurodim dimmers, but also on control desks and LED theatre lights, which look to the future."

Among the products that ADB presented for the first time at Prolight+Sound, visitors could find OCEAN, a lighting console designed for theatres, opera houses, and multi-purpose venues. The Ocean's most striking feature is its high-resolution touch screen, with a 70-cm-wide (27½"-wide) viewing area. It provides operators with full access to all functions and control of all parameters through a single screen, which greatly simplifies control desk ergonomics. Due to its ultra-stretched display format, the console and screen itself are still very compact, both in depth and height. This means the operators have a perfect view of the stage from every angle, regardless of where they are sitting, and can place the console on small surfaces, the company says. Moreover, its shallow depth allows them to access the touch screen very easily. To respond to the ever-increasing need for multiple connections, it is billed as the only console on the market with four Ethernet outputs, which means users no longer have to provide additional Ethernet access.

The ORKIS is ADB's new color LED Fresnel or Pebble luminaire, which brings the modernity of innovative technology to the stage in a simple, versatile, heavy duty unit. Its CRI remains stable at values of at least 97 thanks to a modern 6-color LED system and advanced software. The color range obtainable is very wide, and every shade can truly be achieved, the company says. It faithfully reproduces the behavior of a halogen light, making it compatible with various different light sources. The Orkis is also an extraordinary variable white LED unit, from 8,000K to 2,500K: the white light it produces is extremely pure since it combines six colors, and the CRI is unaltered when the color temperature changes. Its flexibility of use is remarkable: a flood light up to an angle of 87-degrees (field angle), or a spot light with an angle of 15-degrees (beam angle). Variation is continuous, smooth and linear within this range. Alternatively, the Orkis can be modified into a PC luminaire, by changing the lens with the related accessory.

Among the other products on the ADB stand at the Prolight+Sound 2019, users could also appreciate:
- the LEXPERT FAMILY (PROFILE, FRESNEL, EMPHASY): a range of LED units featuring advanced technology and high quality light
- the KLEMANTIS (AS1000 or AS500): the cyclight with state-of-the art LED technology
- the OKSALIS, the LED Flood lights for Theatre
- the EURODIM TWINTECH dimmer, a real must for professional applications in theatres, concert halls and TV studios
