Ayrton Announces New Diablo LED Profile

Launched at Prolight+Sound 2019, Ayrton's ultra-compact Diablo profile is billed as the smallest, lightest, and most efficient LED luminaire of its type. Weighing just over 20kg, Diablo delivers a record output of 19,000 lumens from its 300W source, and matches the ultra-compact Mistral in dimensions. Diablo is both versatile and feature-rich and is the latest to join Khamsin and Ghibli in Ayrton's new profile luminaire range.

Diablo's miniaturized framing system uses eight motors to accurately position its four blades across 100% surface area, enabling precision framing of any object, regardless of the luminaire's position. The 119mm frontal lens produces an extremely uniform flat beam with no hot spot that renders perfect images at any beam angle.

Diablo shares Mistral's 13-element proprietory optical system to deliver an 8:1 zoom ration and produce a 6.7-degree to 53-degree zoom range. It includes CMY color mixing, a progressive CTO and a wheel with seven complementary colors for an infinite palette of bright pastels and saturated colors. The effects section includes a wheel with seven interchangeable HD glass gobos, a continuous dynamic effects wheel, 15-blade iris diaphragm, heavy frost filter and five-facet indexable, circular rotating prism.

Like all Ayrton fixtures, Diablo has a highly efficient phase-change liquid cooling system using a heat pipe that includes a particularly effective, ultra-silent ventilation mode which is well suited for stage and studio applications.

Diablo, like its sister fixtures the Levante wash light and Mistral spot luminaire, is available in two versions, 'S' and 'TC': Diablo-S is specially designed for stage applications and utilizes a monochromatic LED light source that can generate an ultra high output and metallic white light calibrated at 6,500K; Diablo-TC is geared for applications that require perfect color rendition, and uses a monochromatic LED source with a native CRI greater than 90, high TM30 reading, and a 5,700K color temperature.
