Alcons, Astro, and Avid Bring Triple A-Grade Line-Up to InfoComm 2019

At InfoComm 2019, Alcons Audio will be showcasing the Alcons Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience for the third time. Continuing its evolution, this year it has triple-A status, as not only will Alcons again be partnering with Astro Spatial Audio, but also with pro mixing solutions by Avid for the first time.

Taking place in Orlando, Florida -- the place where 'anything is possible' -- InfoComm 2019 will see Alcons Audio building on its growing success in the US market. The company's pro-ribbon solutions are being specified by an increasing number of US entertainment venues, movie theaters, houses of worship, education establishments, high-end home theater installations, and live event rental houses.

Located in an acoustically optimized-space in Demo Room W231A at the Orange County Convention Center, hour-long demonstrations of the updated Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience will be at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm on Tuesday, June 11th and at 9am, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm on Wednesday, June 12th - Friday, June 14th.

The demonstrations will show how the pro-ribbon systems are an optimum solution for a wide range of applications, delivering the best audio quality and intelligibility at all SPLs, with maximum gain before feedback. Astro Spatial Audio will demonstrate how using Alcons loudspeakers with its SARA II Premium Rendering Engine delivers the ultimate clarity and coverage for object-based immersive audio. In addition, during the 3pm demonstration on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, Robert Scovill, senior specialist at Avid Technologies, will be talking about live sound, immersive mixing, new Avid systems, and how they lend themselves to immersive mix environments.

The Alcons Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience system will highlight the company's extensive range of point-source, point-source array, line-source, and line-array products, showing how Alcons has the tools to satisfy the needs of any sound reinforcement situation. Products on demonstration will include the C-series reference surround speakers, L-series line arrays, V-series versatile monitors, B-series subwoofers, Sentinel amplified loudspeaker controllers, and more.

Alcons will also be showing its latest products on Booth 6881, where company staff and systems integrators, installers, and customers from the corporate/events, theatre/Broadway and cinema/residential markets will be happy to discuss their experiences with Alcons systems.

New products on show will include a preview of the LR24 mid-size pro-ribbon line array, which fills the gap between the LR18 (compact mid-size) and LR28 (large format) systems, delivering Alcons signature high fidelity pro-ribbon sound with up to 90% less distortion than conventional line array systems. Along with its extended 1:15 RMS-to-peak power ratio dynamics, lobe-free HF wavefront with laser-accurate projection and superb throw, it is sure to impress InfoComm visitors as much as those at the European ProLight + Sound show in April, the company says.

Another new product will be the QR20 modular line-source array column, designed for smaller applications, where SPL and throw requirements are lower but the same unique directivity of the larger Q system solutions is needed.

"We are very pleased to bring our latest products and developments in the Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience to InfoComm 2019, again partnering with Astro Spatial Audio to showcase immersive live audio possibilities that visitors may not realize are possible, It gives us the opportunity to highlight the wide range of markets that pro-ribbon audio technology is suited to and discuss our growing success in the US market," says Alcons co-founder Tom Back. "And we are very happy to welcome Avid to demonstrate with us for the first time and show why the combination of Alcons, Astro Spatial Audio and Avid can deliver A-grade live audio experiences that no other combination of systems can."
