Cooper Controls at PLASA 2011

Cooper Controls' Cogent XC controller

PLASA 2011, September 11-14, Earls Court, London, sees Cooper Controls show a host of new products from its leading UK brands -- architectural LED manufacturer Cogent and lighting control manufacturer LightProcessor.

Among the main new architectural orientated products is the Cogent XC LED controller, which will be shown with its latest software.

This increases the number of operational modes from 12 to 20, which can be directly accessed via an RS232 port, with the colors also recalled by region via RS232.

The company describes is as one of the most straightforward and flexible "environmental" LED control systems on the market. It is set up in "regions" via eight compass points, each of which is assigned with its own DMX address, so regions can be activated, pre-programmed, and controlled by selecting '"top," "middle," or "bottom" buttons in any room or space.

Static colors can be chosen via the RS232 interface without having to engage in any programming.

Also from Cogent is a new range of four-color changing LED strip lights -- in RGBA and RGBW.

These can be mounted in different extruded anodized aluminium housings and are suitable for both indoor (IP20-rated) and outdoor (IP65-rated) use.

The latest RXA white down-lighters from Cogent are an AR111 replacement option for retail, commercial, and industrials applications. They are currently available in single-, two-, three- and four-way heads, and in cool, warm, or neutral white hues, featuring all the robust quality engineering that comes with the Cogent brand.

Also on show will be a selection of Cogent's comprehensive range of architectural LED light fittings - up and down lighters, wall-washers, in-ground lights, and spot lights, all of which are designed and made in the UK.

The diverse LightProcessor dimmer range to be seen at the show includes the latest LP RCBO Paradim dimmer, offering all the features and values of the standard LP Paradim range, with an RCBO on each channel for compliance with the 17th edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671).

There is now also a wall-mounted socketed Cee 17 Paradim, which can be supplied with MCB, RCBO or Double Pole breakers.

Also highlighted is the full range of LightProcessor Location dimmers -- a portable dimming solution for the film, TV, and events industries including 6 x 10 and 6 x 16A versions, complete with Cee 17s fitted on the rear, plus a 3 x 25A and a 1 x 63A module. Location dimmers come with integral mains lead, local control plus DMX and analog inputs, plus multifunction back-lit LCD display, and are designed as a complete out of the box, plug-in-and-play dimming system.

LightProcessor's Zip lighting desks will be demonstrated on the stand, along with the full range of LP Dimension and Paradim touring and installation dimmers.

LightProcessor's versatile selection of DMX tools is now joined by a new RJ45 version of the popular rack, truss and wall mounted unit. This unit is designed specifically for the LED market which has adopted the RJ45 as a standard connector for DMX in and out.
