NEXO GEO M10 Installed in Regent Theatre, Australia Situated some 60km northeast of Sydney, Richmond is a historic NSW town with a rural feel and a population of around 6,000 people. At its cultural heart is the Regent Theatre, originally built in 1935 with art deco styling and soon to reopen following an extensive, two-year program of renovations. The venue has various audience configurations including standing or seated downstairs plus a balcony upstairs with fixed cinema style seats. Seating capacity maximum is up to 608 people, and the theatre also sports three bars / service areas with one of those inside the ground floor stalls area. Part of the upgrade includes the installation of new sound and lighting systems by Sydney-based production technology specialists Voyager Sound. Tech spec for sound is a rigged and flown NEXO GEO M10, six per side line array with under stage subs, center fill, and NEXO ID24 balcony delays. "In terms of installation, it was very straightforward with rigging and aiming the system and I especially like the way the boxes fit together" reports Voyager Sounds owner Jim Morley. "NEXO's Australian distributor assisted with an excellent prediction using NEXO's NS-1 system configuration software which has been remarkably accurate. Coverage is very even and sets us up at a really good starting point with a great system. "We have two NEXO NXAMP4x4Mk2 Powered TD Controllers running the main system with a NEXO nanoNXAMP on the ID24 balcony fills. The amps are networked together and can be monitored and adjusted from the operating position via NEXO's NeMo remote control app if required." Events are currently being booked in for the year ahead with Aussie rock legend Ian Moss, Aj Barker, and Ross Noble currently sold out within days of release and many great shows in the booking pipeline. The venue also operates as a Cinema with high density screenings during school holidays and private hire / corporate events welcome. "The owners are very happy with the sound and the reactions they are getting from the potential shows that are booking in for the future" says Morley in conclusion. "All in all, I'm very happy. I think we may add extra subs in the long term and fine tune the angle of the main arrays, possibly adding an extra M10 box on the bottom. Its early days but we are in a great place."
