Clay Paky in the Spotlight at PLASA 2012

Clay Paky A.LEDA range of LED-based fixtures

Clay Paky will be exhibiting at PLASA 2012, in London's Earls Court, running September 9-12. Clay Paky's main stand will be 1-E36, is facing the main square in the very heart of the exhibition floor, where the "Innovation Gallery" is located. This year the stand will be managed by Ambersphere Solutions, the exclusive distributor in the UK for the Clay Paky and MA Lighting ranges of products.

Located on the back of the Clay Paky main stand is a demo-area for presentations. Access to this area is open to all visitors that, every hour, will be able to attend a 20 minute product presentation.

The A.LEDA range of LED-based fixtures will be on display at PLASA for the first time in the UK, following the design fine-tuning based on the customers feed-back received at and after the Prolight + Sound exhibition in Frankfurt. The range consists of A.Leda Wash K5 (150W, 3,500lm, 12-degree beam angle), A.Leda Wash K10 (350W, 9,000lm, 14-70-degree linear zoom) and A.Leda Wash K20 (600W, 18,000lm, 14-70-degree linear zoom). All models feature a library of pre-set graphic effects customizable by the operator, electronic linear dimmer, stop/strobe effect and a dedicated channel for color temperature setting. Each LED color can be dynamically and individually controlled. Products in this range have been nominated for the PLASA Awards for Innovation.

The Alpha Profile 800 ST is a moving beam shaper for use in theatres and studios. Clay Paky used highly sophisticated micromechanics to obtain a compact, light, silent unit with an extremely bright light and a zoom capable of producing a sharp, perfectly uniform beam. Exclusive features include miniaturized four-blade framing system, 11-55-degree linear zoom with additional narrow 7.6-degree angle; exclusive autofocus system; Dyna-Cue-Creator function; 6,000K light beam; and quiet operating silence (42dBA).

GlowUp Strip 100 is a LED bar (batten) for professional stage lighting, with combined battery/mains power supply and combined cable/wireless control. Ten powerful RGB-W multi-chip LEDs are arranged in a line inside a 100cm linear aluminum housing suitable for outdoors use (IP65). The fixture creates a curtain of brightly colored light, with a beam angle adjustable from 14- to 70-degrees. The original "white power saving" function helps optimize power consumption. The GlowUp Strip 100 has been nominated for the PLASA Awards for Innovation.

Clay Paky has donated to PLASA one of the six "Union Jack" Sharpy fixtures that have been used for the Jubilee Concert of Queen Elisabeth II. All pre-registered PLASA visitors will be entered in a free prize draw to win this unique fixture, that carries the original signature of lighting designer Durham Marenghi. The unit will be on display at the main entrance of the exhibition.

Following its successful debut in Frankfurt, the Clay Paky TV will provide daily updates and interviews with key market players with their impressions on the exhibition, comments about the market situation and new trends, their experiences with Clay Paky products...all live. Visitors can come to "CP TV Studio", located in the Clay Paky demo-room -- accompanied by key customers -- and become a protagonist with this innovative communication tool.

On Sunday, September 9, the Knight Of Illumination Awards event will be celebrated at the Battersea Evolution venue, with 400 and more industry guests. Organized by the ALD, STLD, and Clay Paky, and now in its fifth year, the Knight of Illumination Awards provides public recognition for outstanding achievements in lighting design by lighting designers working on productions in the UK.
