elektraLite's New Stingray Profile Outshines Its Rivals

elektraLite's Stingray Profile LED luminaire

The new Stingray Profile LED spot fixture from elektraLite delivers clean, warm white light with a truly incomparable level of intensity for its range.

At the heart of the fixture is a newly designed, highly efficient, 300W COB LED producing an incredible output of 9,655 lumens, making the Stingray Profile the brightest fixture in its class. With its balanced 3,200K color temperature and CRI of 95, the ellipsoidal spot is a powerful performer as a stage light for a myriad of live environments.

"Our new Stingray is stunningly bright, has zero hot spots, and provides an exceptionally smooth dimming curve, just like a conventional fixture," says Tyler Wise, Group One's national sales manager for the elektraLite and DTS Lighting brands. "This is the brightest, highest-CRI, coolest-running LED profile fixture at its price point, and the first 100 hundred fixtures we've sold are already getting rave reviews on their performance."

The Stingray Profile's sophisticated, proprietary diffraction lensing system provides a packed punch of light in a variety of beam spreads. The fixture comes with a 19-degree lens installed, while interchangeable lens tubes offer the user a choice of optional 26-, 36-, and 50-degree beam spreads with no chromatic aberration.

"For customers who already have a stockpile of existing tubes, the Stingray accepts lens tubes from other manufacturers' fixtures as well, making it a true plug-and-play product," Wise notes.

A liquid-cooled heat sink allows the Stingray Profile to function in a wide range of environments -- from sub zero to desert temperatures -- and keeps the fixture cooled so effectively that both glass and steel gobos may be used.

"We were also careful in choosing the best lens system to complement the Stingray's COB LED," adds Norman Wright, VP of technical support for Group One's lighting division. "The lenses have absolutely no color edging around the beam, and the beam is perfect both in and out of focus. Focus is also extremely crisp and sharp, especially when using patterns in the gobo slot."

The built-in accessory clip and included color frame allow for diffusion and color media to be used, and a quick rotating and release of the barrel allows lens and shutters to be easily cleaned. The Stingray Profile's exclusive "cool to touch" housing features a rotating barrel assembly, rear handle, pattern holder slot, and four shutter blades for perfect in-focus beam cuts.

Sporting five-pin XLR DMX connectors (both in and thru), the Stingray Profile features a very simple-to-use onboard control interface that permits easy control by either DMX or console-free static operation. The fixture also runs on only a single channel of control, making it easy to replace existing fixtures and control the Stingray without a wide requirement of channels.

A single yoke, safety eyebolt, and safety cable is included. Power is via industry standard powerCON in and out connectors allowing the fixtures to be simply daisy chained.

A powerful, well-rounded LED lighting fixture with a rugged design, the Stingray Profile is a workhorse, ready to bring richly-consistent bright white light to a wide variety of public settings, including stages, classrooms, galleries, houses of worship, studios, live event spaces, and other production environments. Measuring two feet in length (0.61m) and weighing 18lbs (8.2kg), the luminaire produces the rich and beautifully consistent white light that today's high-end productions and their audiences demand.
