Turbosound Launches iQ Loudspeaker Systems with "Acoustic Integration"

Turbosound's iQ loudspeaker system

Turbosound launched the all-new iQ Series networked loudspeaker line at the 2014 NAMM Show. By combining Turbosound's 40-year loudspeaker legacy with Klark Teknik's award-winning networking and digital signal processing (DSP) technologies, the company says the iQ Series loudspeaker systems herald a new age of high-precision performance and audio networking.

The Turbosound iQ Series features "acoustic integration," which enables digital mixers, personal monitor systems, and loudspeakers to communicate directly with each other digitally via the company's proprietary Ultranet technology. Another first for the iQ Series is the sophisticated speaker modeling capability, which lets users dial up preset frequency contours that emulate the sound of 10 of the world's most iconic loudspeakers. Acoustic integration puts more control at the user's fingertips, allowing them to make dramatic changes to overall sound system performance -- in real time, without ever leaving the mixing desk.

Perfect for front-of-house and floor-wedge applications, the iQ15, iQ12, iQ10, and iQ8 two-way loudspeakers are lightweight, portable, and provide premium-quality sound. Added support for low-frequency performance comes from the iQ18B and iQ15B subwoofers, which provide exceptionally-deep and powerful bass. All enclosures feature standard 35mm pole-mount sockets, for deploying dynamic full-range systems ideal for even the most demanding sound-reinforcement applications.

All iQ Series models connect seamlessly with Midas M32 and Behringer X32 digital mixers, and are equipped with 3,000W Klark Teknik Class-D amplifiers and DSP -- plus Turbosound drivers for outstanding performance. Users can easily set up and adjust built-in DSP parameters directly at the speakers, or remotely via PC or tablet running the free-of-charge, downloadable app.

"Our design objective was advanced integration between our growing digital mixer family and this new, high-performance loudspeaker line," said Al Walker, product manager. "The iQ Series is an industry first, thanks to the available digital audio networking via our proven Ultranet technology."

The Turbosound iQ Series is affordable enough for small to medium-size venues, such as theatres, schools, and houses of worship -- yet powerful enough to take on festival stages, dance clubs, and corporate convention center shows.

The full range iQ8, iQ10, iQ12, iQ15, and subs Q15B and iQ18B are available and are covered by Music Group's three-year warranty program.
