K-array Firenze Series arrives in the USA

K-array Firenze line array

K-array, a 25 year old Italian loudspeaker manufacturer, recently unveiled its latest innovation, the Firenze touring line arrays. Models KH8, KH7, and KS8 complete the lineup. These self-powered systems offer digital "slim array technology" and acoustic steering with onboard DSPs for comprehensive operational flexibility.

A hang of 12 KH8's can be set up in just under 15 minutes with a minimum of two technicians. Its diverse ability to easily configure the sound the user wants where the user wants it is due to the intelligent software exclusively made for the series. The KS8 Subs include two 21" transducers with an incredible 8500W of Class D amplification.

So far, the Firenze Series has been featured in a number of major global festivals including the JZ Festival and Clockenflap in Hong Kong. The system has already been launched in the UK at the Barbican Centre, London, and received recognition and support from some of the most influential front-of-house engineers in the USA including:

Rick Camp (front-of-house engineer for Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, and Chris Brown) "The Subs are real tight, I like what I heard, they were flying 12-boxes a side over a total of 18-subs, the headroom was crazy!"

Michael Apodaca (front-of-house engineer for Prince and Kool and the Gang's Larry Graham) "After mixing on this system, and experiencing its horsepower and transparency, I'm convinced that it will hold its own in the world market."

Blake Smith (front-of-house engineer for James Brown's Bootsy Collins) "Mixing front-of-house for Bootsy, I often find myself pushing a system's subs that I have for the day to their limit. The Firenze Series gave me everything I needed and more."

Lou Mannarino (audio engineer for The New York Philharmonic) "The Firenze system is a new approach that's built with the best components our industry offers. Combine that with Italian innovation, and the KH8 system declares itself a front runner. It's controllable, incredibly musical sounding, and responsive."

Mannarino is no stranger to K-array. His production company has been using the slim, compact high performance speakers for many years in the Tri-State area. L&M Sound & Light has installed K-array systems in many prestigious New York venues including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Lincoln Center for the Arts, Columbia University, American Museum of Natural History, and MOMA. K-array has been used for recent events including the "Costume Institute Ball," Martha Stewart's "Made in America," Selma movie premiere, and many Broadway greats with the NY Philharmonic.

Mannarino and K-array have provided audio solutions for President Barak Obama's important trips to New York and visiting global leaders, L&M Sound & Light recently provided the design and production for the anticipated arrival of Prince William and Princess Kate on their recent trip to the US.

Mannarino, with his 30-year-old production company, L&M Sound & Light has been chosen by K-array to exclusively distribute both the Firenze and Concert Series in the US.
