Absolute Acoustics Debuts HDMI over HDBaseT Extender Series

Absolute Acoustics' NDS-871HD-TX Extender

Absolute Acoustics, a designer and manufacturer of AV signal management and distribution solutions, announces its new series of HDMI over HDBaseT signal extenders, capable of transmitting HDMI and control signals over long distances via a single twisted-pair cable. The series includes four extender kits that are all fully compatible with the new ultrahigh definition sources and displays, sending video signals with resolutions up to 2160p@30 with YCbCr 4:4:4 or 2160p@60 with 4:2:0 color format. CEDIA 2016, held September 15 - 17 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, marks the first time the extender kits will be available to the US market.

"Absolute Acoustics is committed to providing integrators with professional, high-quality AV connectivity solutions that answer the need for any project and bridge the gap between ever-changing technology and real-world applications," said Horst von Wallwitz, chief engineer at Absolute Acoustics. "Our line of HDMI over HDBaseT extender kits were designed as part of that promise. Fully complementing our line of 4K/UHD matrix switchers also being released at the show, these kits allow integrators to build reliable end-to-end, multi-zone HD distribution systems with ease."

The lineup starts with the affordable NDS-470HD HDMI over HDBaseT extender kit, extending HDMI and control signals and 1080p video up to 230' (70m) over a single twisted-pair cable, as well as 4K/UHD video up to 130' (40m) with embedded multi-channel audio and bi-directional IR control signals. The NDS-570HD extender kit is capable of transmitting HDMI, control and 1080p video runs up to 230' (70m) and 4K/UHD video up to 130' (40m) along with embedded multi-channel audio, RS-232 and bi-directional IR control support. The NDS-870HD extends HDMI and control signals and 1080p video transmission up to 328' (100m) and 4K/UHD video up to 230' (70m) with embedded multi-channel audio, RS-232 and bi-directional IR control signals.

Finally, the NDS-970HD kit provides maximum signal extension, transmitting audio, 1080p video, control and Ethernet network signals for distances up to 328' (100m) over a single twisted-pair cable. It can transmit 4K/UHD video up to 230' (70m) with embedded multi-channel audio, RS-232 and bi-directional IR control signals. A built-in Ethernet extension provides three additional ports for streaming and control devices. Enhancing the audio signal treatment, the NDS-970HD also features a toolkit that enables optical and analog audio embedding/de-embedding and allows it to send the audio from the display across the system via HDMI-ARC. A pair of RCA connectors at the transmitter provide de-embedding and connection to multi-room controllers, providing integrators with the flexibility to solve any installation scenario.

Utilizing power over cable (PoC) technology, both the transmitter and receiver units within the NDS-570HD, NDS-870HD, and NDS-970HD kits can be remotely powered, requiring a single power supply for a clean and simple installation. NDS-470HD's receiver unit can be remotely powered from transmitter via PoC technology. Every kit features HDMI-CEC bypass, allowing commands to pass between devices and enabling the end user to control the entire system with a single remote. Fully licensed and compatible with HDCP 2.2 content protection specification, each kit is ready to transmit UHD signals directly from the source.

Absolute Acoustics' HDMI over HDBaseT extender kits will be on display at CEDIA at booth 4742. More information is available at the URL below.
