Modulo Kinetic Media Server Celebrates Ten Years with the Release of Version 7

This latest version introduces numerous improvements across the entire workflow, the company says.

Ten years after its launch, Modulo Kinetic, the all-in-one media server platform developed by Modulo Pi, continues to evolve with the release of Version 7. The new version introduces a wide range of enhancements, strengthening performance and usability across every stage of the workflow, from 3D study and mapping to real-time playback, interactivity and show control.

With Version 7, Modulo Kinetic takes a new step forward by further integrating tools that are traditionally spread across multiple systems. The platform streamlines production pipelines while offering greater flexibility, performance and control to designers, integrators and operators, the company says.

This latest version introduces numerous improvements across the entire workflow, the company says. The user experience has been refined to simplify operations in multi-screen environments, while 3D capabilities have been significantly expanded. Native support for major 3D formats - including Cinema 4D and SketchUp -- and point cloud data, combined with integrated prefab assets, enables users to design and prepare projects more efficiently within a single environment.

Projection workflows have also been further developed, with full 3D models of projectors -- including lenses and frames -- refined editing tools and direct 3D pre-warping capabilities.

An optional 3D auto-calibration module further accelerates setup by automating multi-projector blending and warping, significantly reducing calibration time compared to manual processes.

LED study and simulation are now introduced within Modulo Kinetic, with an integrated database of over 2,000 LED panel models. This new capability allows users to simulate real-world LED panels with accurate pitch representation, further extending the platform's 3D study capabilities.

In parallel, Version 7 adds new simulation features, including 3D LiDAR simulation for interactive experiences. Users can visualize sensor coverage, beam emission and occlusions, helping define optimal system configurations based on venue constraints and audience conditions.

A new tracking and crowd simulator complements these capabilities, enabling realistic testing of audience behavior and generative content, allowing designers to validate interactive scenarios ahead of on-site installation.

Media workflows are also strengthened with broader format support, automated file synchronization with remote servers, and integrated content versioning for more efficient asset management.

Interactivity continues to evolve with spatially triggered video playback, an improved particle engine, and high-performance rendering. A new multi-user particle system enables real-time generative behaviors that dynamically adapt to the number of active users.

Real-time processing capabilities are extended with over 150 new GPU-powered effects enabling advanced visual treatments, including live content, with minimal latency.
