Tony Award Nominations Announced

The nominations for the 2019 - 20 Tony Awards were announced yesterday. As the world knows, the Tonys are late, reflecting the strange nature of a Broadway season that shut down in mid-March, before a great number of shows had opened. As a result, only shows that opened through early January were eligible. Others, such as West Side Story, Girl from the North Country, and Six, which were open (or about to), will have to wait for another ceremony.

Leading the way in nominations are Jagged Little Pill with 15, Moulin Rouge! with 14, Slave Play with 12, Tina - The Tina Turner Musical with 12, and The Inheritance with 11.
