Elation Introduces KL FRESNEL IP Series for Stage, Studio, and Outdoor Use

Elation announces it is expanding its KL "Key Light" Series of LED Fresnel luminaires with the IP65-rated KL FRESNEL IP Series, bringing the familiar character of a Fresnel to any environment.

Available in weather-ready 6" or 8" models with versatile design options, KL FRESNEL IP fixtures project soft-field light across the full color spectrum. They meet the strict standards of light-critical, noise-sensitive venues such as broadcast studios and theatres, the company says.

Built for any environment, and engineered to simplify setup, each fixture uses an RGBMA engine combined with customized optics to enable precise color reproduction across a stage or studio system from rich saturates to subtle pastels and dynamic white light.

For a more cohesive rig -- whether building a new system, upgrading, or expanding an existing one -- the KL FRESNEL IP fixtures are billed as perfectly calibrated with the wider KL and FUZE families to maintain consistent, high-quality color throughout any space.

Color rendering is said to be of the highest quality, with high CRI (94) and TLCI (95) values, ensuring extremely accurate color reproduction both to the eye and to the camera. CMY emulation supports familiar programming styles, while the fixtures can fine-tune looks using a virtual gel library or correct color drift with a green-magenta shift adjustment.

Capable of matching camera white balance, users can easily adjust the color temperature between 2,400K and 8,500K for precise tuning, while a dim-to-warm function emulates classic incandescent warmth. Smooth 16-bit dimming curves and a variable strobe provide nuance and impact for dynamic designs.

Designed for precision and flexibility, an internal motorized 8- to 60-degree zoom preserves classic Fresnel behavior with the smooth falloff that designers expect in a compact, easy-to-rig form while adjustable eight-leaf barndoors allow precise beam shaping.

Optimized for broadcast and live performance, the fixtures remain whisper-quiet and offer an LED refresh rate up to 25kHz for high-speed camera compatibility. Multiple DMX-controllable fan modes -- from High to Silent -- support both open-air shows and camera-critical environments, reducing maintenance and ensuring reliable performance.
