Astera QuikBeam Wins SoundLightUp Award Astera's new QuikBeam fixture, launched at ISE expo last month, has won another award for innovation, this time from the France-based industry technology portal, SoundLightUp. Described by SoundLightUp as a "pocket-sized wash/beam," it is a bright, rapidly deployable, Fresnel fixture with a 13-degree-to-60-degree zoom. Features include swappable batteries and practical plug-and-play functionality, plus the performance, color mixing, and high CRI/TLCI of Astera's Titan LED Engine. SoundLightUp's panel of experts commented that the IP65-rated QuikBeam "inspires confidence with its robust and well-thought-out design and wins an SLU Innovation Award for its clever rapid-handling solutions and multiple control options, all integrated into a fixture under 15cm in size that will undoubtedly delight its users." The unit measures 13cm (5.81") and weighs under 3.3lb, yet produces nearly 1,300 lumens, equivalent to a 200W tungsten source, thanks to its 20W Titan RGB-plus-mint plus-amber LED engine, which is behind a small Fresnel-style lens. This is the product's second award in six weeks, having picked up a Best of Show Award in the TVBEurope category at ISE. These awards are also judged by a panel of industry experts and editorial teams, with each award submission reviewed based on the product's feature set, ease of use, innovation, and uniqueness within the market.
