In Memoriam: Guy Benjamin Guy Benjamin, well-known for his work at several major industry companies, died on May 14. He was 69. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, in 1957, Benjamin attended San Francisco State University, where he studied lighting design. Moving to Shreveport, Louisiana, he became part of the local theatre community. After working with acts including The Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, and Bruce Springsteen, he joined the image systems group at New York City-based Production Arts, where he oversaw productions spanning music, television, and Broadway while helping develop projection technology for the PANI and PIGI systems. In 2003, Benjamin teamed up with Peter Daniel to become vice president of Pete's Big TVs, working on major sporting events, concerts, broadcasts, Broadway productions, and public gatherings. His projects included the Olympics, NFL Kickoff, the NHL Awards, Papal visits, presidential conventions, the opening of the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, productions for Viacom (MTV, BET, Nickelodeon), and such Broadway shows as Jersey Boys, Guys and Dolls, and Rock of Ages, as well as various editions of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Benjamin is survived by his wife, Rhonda Zoch; stepdaughter Grace Newton; stepson and daughter-in-law Oscar Newton and Taylor Riethe; stepdaughter Carabelle Newton; step-grandchildren Daisy Burton and Mads Newton; sister and brother-in-law Kerri and Ronnie Bates; nieces and nephews Taylor and Landon Brightwell and Madison and Scott Johnson; brother and sister-in-law Robert Benjamin and Sue Benjamin; and his child Asa Benjamin (formerly known as Ella). He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara (Schuler) Benjamin and Robert Benjamin. A celebration of Benjamin's life will be held on August 22 at 4pm at the family home in Sharon, New Hampshire. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to Home Healthcare, Hospice, and Community Services in Keene, New Hampshire. Donations may be made via the website, www.hcsservices.org.
